Might see if I can make a weekend of it and go camp the night somewhere.
I have driven through that area many a time but always on my way to somewhere else.
I've organised a campspot if you want it.

I do the grounds and maintenance at the hotel and have to maintain an eight acre property surrounded by the bush.

Up the back corner of the property beside Fisher Ck, I've got a great cleared grassy area amongst the bush with a 4wd test track running right through the middle.

It's not visible from the hotel or the lodge or the cabins.

People like it so much that people want their weddings held here.

There's trout and yabbies and mussels in the creek.

Walking tracks straight from here into the bush. One of them leads all the way up to the old Fisher Ck Tk and comes out half way from Dom Dom Rd down to the creek. Fisher Ck Tk was closed after the fires, Fisher Ck Rd is still open and impassable for my 80. I saw a Discovery break a plasma rope trying to winch a GU out of it last Sunday.

So you can camp here if you like and you're in easy walking distance from the bar and restaurant and bottle shop.

Barbeques nearby.

I'll see if I can get a campfire going for you if you like.

I'll let you have a shot of the test track too.

Free of charge too, mates rates.

James

Camping appeals to me, too.
I assume there's room for a tiny camper trailer,
and a safe place to leave it.
Won't know till later if camping, but day trip for sure.

What time are we meeting up at James?

The snow trip reminded me just how slow and painful it is to pack up a camp site, so i reckon we need start time locked in.

We'll meet at 8:30 in the carpark and start letting down tyres and getting ready.

I'll let you all have a quick drive on the test track.

Then we'll head out at about 9:00.

For those who want breakfasts, they start at 8:00, so get there at 8. There's take away coffees too.

With regards to camping, this is not an official thing we do, just a thing for mates, so there's no facilities, it's just like a normal campsite except in a hotels bush property.

I can fit about 4 campers in here.

BUT, if you're all willing to park your cars about 10 to 20 metres from your tents, I can fit about 7 campers.

And Yes Chris, I can fit your camper easily.

Just remember, we've got proper accomodation if you want it. We've got the lodge and certain members have used that before. There's cabins and there's motel rooms. So there's accomodation for all budgets. The number to make a booking is 5963 7121.

If you're going to be camping, just let me know through the forum and tell me whether it's Friday night or Saturday night or both. Also tell me around about what time you'll be arriving. I'll get it all set up for you before you arrive.

So it's Brad and Chris so far. What nights will you be here?

I'll rock up late Friday, and will stay Saturday night as well - at this stage.

Hi everyone -

Can everyone who is posting that they are coming please either post here on PM James to let him know your name (if it's not obvious) and what you drive.

It's James' first trip and he doesn't know who everyone is - he keeps texting me.

Steve.
