Steve.

Looks Cool. If only I had Muddies on the Jeep.
I remember doing this track in the GV years ago.

NOTE:

There's a tentative date change for this trip.

It looks like it will be moved back one week to the 27th September due to some participants availability.

Ahem...Andrew...I have a nice cheap set of 35x10.5-16 Silverstone extreme's just begging for a home at work...Mr ARB (Cal) ordered them but hasn't picked them up yet...Going for a bargain price!

Also its not looking like my car will be ready by this trip. I am happy to navvy and be the Official trip photographer if someone has a spare seat. Although don't expect photos as good as Mocks! but i'll try!

Andrew - If you are serious about this sort of trip I'd recommend a winch. Ellis is pretty unforgiving and it seems that heavy cars have to winch some sections at the moment, regardless of tyres.

I'm sure in dryer conditions your car would do very well - even with it's current tyres.

Given the trip date it might be the first taste of DUST for the year........ a lot can change in a month.

Who knows, might even see cj!'s monster ?

It'd still be fun though - with the rocks as exposed as they are at the moment.

Boys, we spent most of the day on Ellis about a month ago, if you dont have a winch or hand winch dont bother. It is slippery and the angles can be quite hairy!
Not a track for the unlocked and undertyred!!!

Sorry Steve,

The 27th would make it the day after afl grand final day... my enthusiasm for driving on this date would be "reduced".

Perhaps we could make it the sunday before? i.e. the 13th Sep? or the sunday even later again - i.e. the 4th i guess?

Please note that this trip is now confirmed as Sunday 20th September.

Please also note that we are now classifying this trip as Hard. i.e. tough tracks with no by-passes.

There is will be a second trip to the same area on Sunday 4th October.
