Thanks for the reply.
I would still like an actual comparison. Opinions are fine, but real time data would be better. Someone must have put their Vit (or any G16B vehicle) on a dyno at some stage.

Dyno Tune Vitara 1.6L EFI
What kW (at the wheels) should I expect out of a 1.6L EFI Vit? I know the motor is supposed to be 71kW at the fly wheel, but I don't know what level of reduction to expect at the wheels. I am running 235/75/R15 tyres and have extractors with a high flow cat, and cold air intake (snorkel), otherwise ...

Re: Vitara ARB Bar Winch Options
As it took some effort to find this data I thought others may find the information useful. The dimensions of a winch that does fit in the Vitara ARB bulbar are 534mm L x 160mm D x 193mm H. The mounting bolt pattern is 254mm x 144mm. Any winch that is similar or smaller may therefore fit. However, I ...

Vitara ARB Bar Winch Options
I am seeking advice from anyone who has, or knows about, the ARB winch bar for a Vitara (SWB). I am trying to select an appropriate winch, but have been unable to determine which ones will fit. There is a Runfa 8000lb that seems like a fair option but I do not know if it fits? ARB state the bar will...

Vitara Carburetor Options
Anyone got any advice or options for the repair or upgrade of a carbie on a 1989 Vitara. The one I have is in urgent need of some attention, but before I dedicate time and funds to its rebuild, I would seek any advice on a better option for a good long term carbie solution... at the best value for m...

Re: Tyre size and legalities....help please
Doing any significant vehicle modification, whilst trying to remain legal really isn't simple. I have been trying to do the same thing myself. Some modifications are acceptable but only within the limits of some other modifications. http://www.victoriapolice4wdclub.org.au/Notices/VSI%20No%208%20Guid...

Re: Vitara rear shocks
Although I have always recommended and used OME previously (MQ and GQ Patrols), from my personal and recent experience I would not recommend OME as a good option for the Vitara. My ARB fitted OME 2” lift failed in just over a year. Both front and rear shocks failed to hold charge, and the front stru...

Re: SWB Vitara Suspension Lift
So.... What is the balanced suspension lift/tyre configuration for a SWB Vitara that is intended for hard work? What gives a good 4x4 return, with the minimal compromise to the stress on the drive train and steering components, but keeps functional highway performance? Option = OME LWB 2" lift ...

Re: SWB Vitara Suspension Lift
Thanks to all. Your responses have galvanised my choice to not go with the imported lifts. But now I need to get as much as I can out of the limits I have. I was aware of the diff gears from 4xfourart detailed by Christover, and agree, they are expensive. So it begs the question, are they suitably b...

Re: SWB Vitara Suspension Lift
Thanks Christover. I will check the RHD issue if I decide to proceed. I am running 29" tyres ATM and find it works nicely with my 40mm body lift and 50mm suspension, other than the ground clearance issue. The engine seems to manage the overall tyre, drivetrain (manual) ratios well , even when t...
