Drop pitman aarm

Post by cj! »

Steve and fitted the drop pitman arm that I sourced from LowRange Offroad to my Sierra. It is for use with the Vitara power steering box and drops the draglink about 2.5" which is great for reducing bump steer on a lifted Sierra. It is the same arm sold by all companies. It should also give back a little bit more steering lock.

FYI we had a small hiccup with the arm. It is about 17mm longer which is not mentioned anywhere and therefore was causing fouling on the tie-rod. For SPOA vehicles this probably would never be an issue but SPUA cars need to be aware of this. It can be resolved in the build when mounting the steering box but as the box had already been mounted on mine at the time without this new longer arm we had a problem.

It was resolved by enlarging the holes slightly giving us enough play to rotate the box enough to now clear the tie-rod.
