I have feeling Suzuki is the only place I can get this part from.

I have a noisy Power Steering tensioner bearing (1999 V6 Grand Vitara)
The Suzuki part number is 49120-65-d31. Suzuki want to charge $201.80 + GST...
A little steep for a bearing....

My mechanic has tried to source these from e third party supplier... No luck.

Does any one have any suggestions on where to get these from (apart from Suzuki)

Did you try suziworld, maybe other inter state suzuki wreakers etc too. At the end of the day if you need it you'll have to pay.

Are there any numbers of the bearing or its seals ?

Quoting these numbers to a supplier will be necessary.

that's a pulley not a bearing make sure you can press the old bearing out and press the new one in. If you can get the old one out a replacement should be easy. If it's not removable though... it's off to Suzuki you go....

Hey CJ where did you get that number from ?
The JPG file is exactly what the Suzuki parts guys were looking at.

Steve.
I have seen 2 mechanics who have tried to source one from a third party.. No luck
One mechanic re packed it with grease etc but it is still abit noisy.
Suzuki also wrote another number down 49120-65-d30.

I think it will of to Suzuki we go for a new one anyway?? :D

Andrew, that number I gave you which is on the jpeg is from the Suzuki Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC). The other number which you mentioned appears to be a variation of the bracket number, possibly updated. Ask them for a price on the number I gave you.

I don't think you've answered the question though, it is a pulley? It looks from the EPC like it has a concentric piece in the centre that acts as the tensioner. If this can't be removed, then you're dealing with suzuki, regardless of what the bearing is.

I'd be pretty confident if you took the concentric bit out of the centre it's just a bearing.

The suzuki part numbers will mean nothing to a bearing supplier - they will need to see and measure it.

The clue though is in the description. If it was just a bearing, it would be described as a "power steering tensioner pulley bearing" but as it's described as the pulley, it's an assembly. Like I said, it all depends whether the centre can be pressed out.
