G'day.
As most of you know, I have a compressor with a standard air hose with a tyre valve attachment.
This is great for pumping tyres but it does not blow dust/crap to well.
All I need to is connector or something that goes into the tyre valve connector on the air hose the directs the air through a small nosel.
In theory, this should then allow me to blow dust more effectively.
Or would it pay get change the attachment to allow me to change air fittings etc.
Note.. The only time I use the compressor is to pump up tyres..
air compressor attachment question ?

Re: air compressor attachment question ?
No, you won't be able to air dust with that compressor without fitting a tank and pressure switch. It won't deliver enough air. With a tank, (and this is dependent on size) you'll have maybe 20-30 seconds of dusting, and then maybe 3 minutes of running the compressor to get the tank back to pressure.
You'll need around 8 cfm to air dust, about 4 times what that compressor puts out. Pressure isn't very important, but volume is.
What do you need to dust? If it's camera gear etc you'd be better with an aerosol. Compressor air is quite damp and can hurt camera gear.

I do not need to create a hurricane. Only want to blow out dust & crap from the engine bay. i.e Altinator

Re: air compressor attachment question ?
My el cheapo Kmart type air pump camr with an attachment that fits the tyre pump fitting.
I think it is to pump up footies, basketballs etc, but does work as a duster a little.
Werth looking into sports shops etc for a ball end for a tyre pump.

Re: air compressor attachment question ?
OK, now I know what you want to do, I can say without question that compressor will not do it without a tank and pressure switch. If you had said a camera, I think 2 cfm might do it with a very small nozzle. (but for my proviso about the quality of the air)
The fact is I can't air dust for long with my setup on piggles, even with a 25L tank at 100psi.
To dust large surfaces and components you really do need quite a lot of air held in a tank to provide a head of pressure. THere are a couple of ways forward. one is to buy a tank, ARB pressure switch and some fittings/relays etc. Then, you can pump the tank up to 100psi, with your existing compressor, regardless of how long it takes, and then use that head of high pressure air to dust with. A setup like this might be able to be done for $150.
Beyond that, you really need an endless air or a power tank type setup (a scuba style tank at 2000psi) to dust.

Re: air compressor attachment question ?
Or make up a hose that attaches to your spare that is pumped to about 50psi and use that like an air tank.
Re: air compressor attachment question ?
Then he can attach to all the other tyres and use them and then he gets to pump up all his tyres
It's not great and wouldn't do much for long but it will work for a short burst.
