constant on headlight plug?

ok so im tryimg to understand the witch craft happening in my loom. im getting constant from all female points on the headlight plug but if i plug it on the back of the headlight the heqdlight doesnt turn on until i turn the lights on at the steering column.anyone?
also none of my blinkers are working :/
it seems as though there is a positive and negative out of the factory indicators. the red blue. its mot earth out of the indicator idk whqt it is

Hi Kiwi.
I could be wrong....but.
I reckon the headlight circuit on the older sierras was switched through the earth circuit. In other words instead of switching the positive wire, the headlight switch switched to earth. (If that makes sense)
It caused me much confusion in the past. Hope this helps.

From memory Wayne is on the money- there’s power at all three headlight terminals. Low or high beam is earthed through the switch to turn on the corresponding filament.
One side of the indicators is definitely earthed.

that sounds plausible.
still need to get indicators flashing. there seems to be something similar therw too with green as ppsotive then red/blue as earth or something. ill chase down a wiring diagram

no. but when i push the hazard back down i hear the click once.
thinking the blinker is on the blink

Agreed. The hazards normally work properly even if there is switching/supply issues as the hazard switch is fed straight from the battery.
Are you running all LED’s?

yeah all leds but i will put an incandecent in there and see. but i should still hear the flasher relay right?
i have parallel resistors if its too quick but something else is wrong

If you’re all LED the flasher won’t flash due to inadequate load.
