Re: constant on headlight plug?
Hi Kiwi.
I could be wrong....but.
I reckon the headlight circuit on the older sierras was switched through the earth circuit. In other words instead of switching the positive wire, the headlight switch switched to earth. (If that makes sense)
It caused me much confusion in the past. Hope this helps.
Regards. Wayne.

Re: constant on headlight plug?
From memory Wayne is on the money- there’s power at all three headlight terminals. Low or high beam is earthed through the switch to turn on the corresponding filament.
One side of the indicators is definitely earthed.

Re: constant on headlight plug?
that sounds plausible.
still need to get indicators flashing. there seems to be something similar therw too with green as ppsotive then red/blue as earth or something. ill chase down a wiring diagram

Re: constant on headlight plug?
Agreed. The hazards normally work properly even if there is switching/supply issues as the hazard switch is fed straight from the battery.
Are you running all LED’s?

Re: constant on headlight plug?
If you’re all LED the flasher won’t flash due to inadequate load.
