Back axle bearing retaining collar.

Post by luigi »

Hi Fellas.
I use a SsangYong twin cab ute for my work car. Its been a good car for me, but parts are difficult to get.
It needed a back wheel bearing, no aftermarket bearings available. So I had to get a genuine bearing. It took 4days to get from Sydney.
Problem is, there is no retaining collar or seals with it. The salesman says, oh, that is a separate part. Alright I say, can you get me a retaining collar.

To cut a long story short. 8 weeks from Korea for a press on collar!!!

I need my work car on the road.
I have already removed the old collar and bearing.
Today I am taking my axle to Bearing Wholesalers in Bayswater to see if there is another axle the same diameter and hopefully get a collar from another make to fit.
If that doesn't solve my problem, can anyone think of something else?

If there is one thing the Suzuki club has a lot of, it is lateral thinkers.
Regards, Wayne.

Hi Fellas.
Mental breakdown averted.
Big thanks to Dennis from Bearing Wholesalers. Barry Rd Bayswater.
Got a collar and seals, all from other applications.
My work car is back on the road. :)
Regards, Wayne.
