Fryers Range. Easy. Sunday March 6.

Post by luigi »

Meeting at Malmsbury Botanical Gardens, Malmsbury. 9.00 am. Sunday March 6. Malmsbury is off the Calder Hwy just past Kyneton. There is a big sign on the Calder Hwy at the turnoff to Malmsbury.
There is no fuel at Malmsbury, but coffee and takeaways are available.
An easy fun trip thru the Goldfields of the Upper Loddon State Forest and the Fryers Range.
Lunch will be at Vaughn Springs picnic ground. There is a toilet block and mineral spring.
The tracks are mainly rocky and not much affected by bad weather. Wide cars might get the odd scratch.
The trip will be similar to the last Fryers Range trip, but with a few extras and variations.
Regards, Wayne.

Hi Wayne, Can Hermann and I Join your group on the 6th March? Will I need to have all terrain tyres? At this stage I only have road tyres. I'm not sure how this site works but my phone no. is 0400103402. Cheers. Maxine

Hi Fellas.
Hi Maxie. You and Herman will be very welcome on this trip.
I think this trip could be done on road tyres. But certainly all terrain tyres would be better.
Even though I rate it easy, it will be a 4wd trip.
I will call you about it.
Regards, Wayne.

Looks like a couple of potential members from Facebook want to tag along too.
Do you want to limit the number of cars?

I'm hoping to come, I might even bring a front drive shaft and spare cvs. only if I hopefully get a matching diff front and rear.

Hi Fellas.
Hi Neo. Any potential new members will be very welcome. A larger group will slow us down a bit, but I am sure we can handle it.
I reckon the main purpose of easy trips is to attract new people.

Hi Fellas.
I have checked all the tracks we will be driving. They are all open, had to clear one fallen tree. Some summer storms and flash floods have exposed lots of rocks.
It will be a fun day of driving. A little bit more challenging than the Jim Crow Range trip.
I hope everyone who has shown interest can still come.
Neo, I don't think you will need spare axles and cvs, but you WILL need 4wd
