G16b Throttle control

I'm in the very last stages of my conversion (g16b and aw4 into a Sierra), and I've found that the throttle control (the bit the accelerator cable pulls on) seems to be super tight and not open all the way open. While idling in park, I can only get it to rev up to about 3k.
I've also found that the throw on the Sierra and Vitara accelerator pedals are different (about 35mm on the Sierra and 55mm on the vitara). By my thinking this means that the Sierra pedal won't be able to get to WOT without some form of modification. Am I on the right track with this? Or way off?
Any insight from other's that have done similar and if any of this sounds normal would be great!
Cheers
Leigh

May not be relevant, but my Sierra couldn't get WOT.
After a lot of looking, I realised my arch/firewall mods were preventing full throttle.
I solved this by spacing the pedal mount on floor out a bit.

My arches, firewall and pedal are all stock. I can fairly easily space the pedal out to get some more movement, but I'm still a bit weary about how hard it is to pull the cable to achieve wot though. It feels as though somethings jamming or binding somewhere

Can you get the throttle working at the motor end, bypassing the cable, that will tell you where problem is, maybe. My Vits acc is very light, so stiff is not normal.

Kickdown cable may be causing an issue?

It's still very tight at the motor end, I think I might need to pull both cables and see what it does without anything attached, at least now I know (not just assume) that it should be light and hopefully can work out whats going on with it.

So I've pulled off both cables and it seems to be the mechanism that is tight, but even if I manipulate it as much as I can, I can only get it to rev to 2-2.5k.
This is the mechanism normal
And this is as far as I can move it around
Is this about right? Or does something look wrong here?
Is it possible there Is some sort of fancy computer restriction going on which is moderating the revs?
I thought that could be what was happening, but 2.5k seems to be excessively low.
Can anyone with a g16b +AW4 tell me what revs they can get in neutral and park?

Rev limiter for me. I'll give you call.

I've partially redeemed my guilt over giving Leigh a broken radiator by helping him fix his throttle problem.
One problem down

Big BIG thanks Steve, for helping me work out what was going on!
Turned out that the mechanism was jamming up on a bit of something that was stuck inside the air intake!
