Christover's Next Car

Post by steve125 »

The MOKE is back, thanks to an enterprising Australian company that has contracted China's Chery Motors to produce a born-again utility vehicle for release worldwide. It's global launch is at Sydney's Bondi Beach later this month.

I'm surprised if they pass our roadworthy laws.
But I want one :)

However, because it is not yet available with electronic stability/stability control, only limited numbers of the new MOKE will be made available in Australia under low-volume import laws

I'll put $20 on this car never being sold in Australia.

I reckon I'd put $5 on it not actually existing at all I rekcon that marketing video showed a mock up that looked to be made made from gaffer tape, tupperware lids and and hope. You'll note they showed no footage of a moving current vehicle.

Cars are better now than they were in 1959. Thankfully. What a terrible idea.

I thought this thread was going to be about a sierra.

We all know chris's car would be way cooler with a different body and chassis (and diffs and tyres etc).

I agree with Steve here. This is someone's dumb idea. They have seen that you can buy New galve Moke bodies. And then think that "everyone" wants one, these bodies are so poorly built that nothing fits.
And this is not even taking into account that All cars need to have airbags and other ADR requirements.
These were shocking in their day and this is no better

And remember that I'm a mini fan.
