Hi Achilles, There are two new GVs in the club. I've got an '08 diesel and have an Ironman lift, happy with it but it is a bit firm, good on the road but not much flex offroad. Another club member has Dobinsons which I would recommend (just ahead of Ironman). Contact Dan at KPD4x4 (0428 292 839) for Dobinsons.

We both run 245/75 16 tyres, I've got Maxxis Bighorns, the other GV has Coopers. This is the biggest tyre that will fit without major mods.

Neither of us run snorkels, not sure they're needed and not a fan of driving through deep water, very easy to destroy your car.

Rather than spend money on a snorkel get some underbody protection, here Ironman is probably the way to go. I also find a tow bar, even if you never tow anything, offers good protection for the rear end.

Other than lift, tyres and bash plate there's not too much more you can or need to do to make GV more capable offroad.

There are a few more GVs over at auszookers. Have a look at zooks4life build. http://auszookers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=33254

And a few club trips the GVs have been on

Hi Steve,
Any issues with spedo, gearing, diffs, torque, etc?

speedo's more accurate, I rely on a gps anyway, gearing's a bit worse but you gain more from the tyres than you lose re gearing, fuel use is a bit worse too, diifs are no problem.
