For those of us that frequent Imlachs, It might be worth posting what we've found recently on here.

I've just paid them a visit, and I've never seen so many cars in stock. Most of the aisles are full of cars as well as the normal herringbone pattern. I have no idea how they are moving anything around at the moment it's so packed.

There's two LWB Auto vitaras. One has the head off it, the other is (I think) intact. Interior is a bit stripped on both. One still has callipers and rotors (worn) One has a suspension kit. Both have complete autos, one has had the TCC pulled (I think) the other is all there. I know this because pulled the cluster for a VSS. The V6 vitara is still there and still has driveline in it.

There's a mostly complete carby soft top. Didn't check how stripped it is.

There's an almost 100% complete X-90 Manual.

I didn't check for steering in any of these cars but I think it's all there.

There's a bunch of balenos.

Off-brand, there's about 3 range rovers with front arms still in them.

For those that might be thinking outside the box, there's a few Kia Sportage's too. These use a Mazda BP motor into a AW-4. This could be a really good conversion as there's heaps of BP variants right up to 180KW turbo versions.

Never been to Imlachs any idea what they would charge for all the bits I would need for a conversion?
And how exactly would one remove the engine/gearbox - would I need to take my own engine crane or is there stuff like that on site?
I note that the site says no jacks - how then do you go about working under the car?

Hi Brad, I couldn't give you a good idea on prices - best to give them a ring - they'll give you a good idea, but it's cheaper than buying a whole car or even buying the parts from a normal" wrecker. Engine cranes are available on site. I think they will also pull what you want for a fee.

The cars generally sit up on rims so you can get under them, but again, I'd talk to them and see what they can arrange.

Didnt happen to see any RA Rodeo Diesels in there did you? I'm chasing a transfer control module for one. They are hideously expensive second hand and new.

Thought I should post this here. Its the Imlachs Self-Serve price list. They are pretty cheap for everything and it saves ringing up to check a price. I find its best to go there on a Sunday the staff are easier to deal with and tend to look after you more if you buy a few things. Also get there early on the weekends parking can be a bitch

Another good wreckers if Jolly Rogers in Dandenong. They dont do much Suzuki stuff but get the occasional vitara/baleno/swift through the yard. They show their pricelist online as well as what cars are in stock and you can see what has been sold off each car. They have a yard in Ringwood too but I have never been to that one and it doesn't say what has been sold off the cars. Website is http://www.gojollys.com.au

I'll be at Imlachs on monday. Grabbed a trimatic on Friday but couldn't get the torque converter off so going back with a few more sockets/spanners/hammers/lengths of pipe.

There are a few swb vits, a trashed lwb gv, etc (but no Sierras). If you are after something, let me know and I will see if it is there.

I went yesterday, the engine is now missing from that swb, so I'm guessing that the torque converter has gone with it..
