weber conversion for 1.3 sierra?

Post by luigi »

I have noticed there are several adds for weber carby conversions for sierras on ebay. They claim more power, better fuel economy ( under certain conditions) and a manual choke. Is it a useful mod for a standard 1.3 or just a gimmick? Does anyone have one? They are a bit pricey , between $500 and $600. Cheers, Luigi.

Put the $600 towards an efi conversion. Yes webers make power. They are unlikely to improve drivability or reliability over a Sierra carby.

Thanks , gwagensteve. I reckon you are right. $600 could go towards a lot of useful things. Like a diff locker. New tyres. Bullbar. Second battery. Bigger alternator. New welder. New bench drill. Workshop press. Compressor. Ever wondered how hard it would be to get up in the morning if money wasnt a problem? Regards, Luigi.
