15-Oct-11 The Great Aussie Camp Out

Post by neofitou »

Hi all,

Im not going to this at all but I thought I would put it up as they sent me an email and some body might like to go:

We thought that members of your club could be interested to know about this Australian-wide camping event taking place this year.

We attach some material that may help you spread the word.

Many thanks.

Steve

Please note that the Great Aussie Camp Out and Australian Camps Association are not-for-profit organisations.

The Great Aussie Camp Out is back.

After the huge success of thousands of people participating in the experience of camping out for a night under the stars in 2010, The Great Aussie Camp Out (GACO) returns on Saturday 15 October 2011.

We surround ourselves today with so much clutter and technology that sometimes it is essential that we take a step back and connect with the simple things in life and what a better way for us all to do so than spend a night out camping.

In the last quarter of a century we have cushioned ourselves away from the natural environment, especially with our children. We are spending more time indoors in front of the television and computers and we are forgetting how to connect with our natural world.

So, camp in your backyard, on a river bank, at a campsite, Caravan Park, on a farm, in one of the hundreds of National Parks - in fact almost anywhere you feel like! No camp site is too big or small to spend the night camping out and just having fun with family, friends or just about anyone you can possibly think of. GACO will again bring thousands of Australians (and visitors) to share in the wonderful experience of camping. We may even break the Guinness Book of Records for the most people camped out for a night!

To join or organise a camp out with friends, family, clubs, community groups or work colleagues on Saturday 15 October 2011 in this free Australia-wide outdoor annual event, register FREE at http://www.greataussiecampout.org.au Win prizes. Activities, games, recipes and much more! Have fun. Here we can also help you to plan your camp and with great tips, resources and ideas to keep you busy all night long.

club interest for this trip was null and void at the September meeting.

i have updated the topic to show October (rather than September) per the post.

Note that October 15 clashes with both the Overland Jeep Club Weekend, and the planned weekend to Lloyds property in Seymour area.
