Christmas party camping 27th-28th November

Post by Mock »

Hi all

The Christmas party will be at Lederderg again this year on the 27th-28th of November.

*This is a Camping trip*

Venue - O'Brian's Crossing, Lerderderg State Park.

Details: Arrive on Friday or Saturday Morning. There will be a drive on Saturday in the forest. This will likely be a easy/medium drive, but depending on those interested, we could always run two - an easy and medium drive. Its a smallish area. If you dont want to drive, you can chill at the camp.
Because we are based out of one location, people will be able to come and go at any time during the the weekend so if you just want to come for the day, thats cool.

Campfire on the Saturday night, beverages and snacks.

Mosey home on Sunday.

This area is 2WD accessible, so broken junk is no excuse not to come.

More details to follow.

Bumpity bump!

I don't recall who said they were coming to this, if anyone was leading a run in, who can stay overnight, who is running a day drive, or, well, anything really.

I have commitments at the house on Saturday morning but we are able to head out there in the afternoon, but I won't head out there if Seonaid and I am sitting there by ourselves.

Whilst there were discussions at the meetings, there's been no reponses on here.

Is anyone actually in for this trip?

Steve.

I was about to post up that I would be there Saturday afternoon but I just checked the Parks website and it lists O'Briens rd and campsite as closed due to controlled burns in the area. Spoke to a ranger and was told O'Briens rd and the campsite are being re opened tomorrow but all the tracks off O'Briens are closed (where the burns took place). Amblers Lane, Mill tk, XL and XL Link are some of the tracks closed. Tracks north of Firth rd are open.

So is O'Briens still on or should we move to Firth Park?

typically Wombat has little to offer for "driving", the better parts are in Lerderderg.
i would suggest staying at Obrians as its closer to the "more fun driving"
