Repeated attempts at a ledge can overheat a clutch.
It was an extremely hot day, too.
If it slipped on very first attempt, I'd be concerned for clutch condition.
If its still driving ok now, you may be ok.
Obviously thats up to the group going to decide.
I miss Adventure Tour, will be on it again when possible.

Brad, you'll need gears for the tour.

Could you make it without gears? - Maybe, but it would be abusive to the car, you might only get a day out of the clutch - and you have already found out what happens with lockers and big tyres with stock gearing.

It's only a few hours labour to get them in. How far away are they?

Your clutch is likely to be fine - if it doesn't slip on 4th gear on the road it won't slip off road with gears in it. You were likely getting it way too hot due to no gearing+lockers. Also, coming from a manual V6 GV will mess with you in regards to clutch engagement - I think they are very tricky to drive off road. With a sierra and gears it's never, ever, necessary to "feather" the clutch - it's on or off.

Alright so let's assume the gears will fix my clutch issues.
By rights the gears should get here next week.
Lowrangeoffroad have been moving servers and premises I believe which has slowed things up a bit.

If you have only noticed clutch issues off road, and then primarily with the lockers in, then yes, the gears should fix the problem. That's no to say the clutch couldn't benefit from replacement, but if it hasn't slipped on road (especially in 4th gear, full throttle, peak torque, so around 3500rpm) then it should be fine with gears.

You have a plenty of time to get your gears in. I've done a quick tally and I think there's 24 hours of labour in my car before I pack or look at any maintenance pre tour, and I reckon I can make it :D
