Suzuki 4WD Club of Victoria

Good day out guys.

Josh and Travis weren't scared off so we must have done something right.

In fact, the only scary thing for the day was how crazy-early everyone was. Even Jonno. Weird.

Thanks alot to everyone who came, it was a great day!

This was not only my first club trip, it was my first 4wd trip in Oscar bar playing around on my property. Have alot to learn, and I really appreciate the experience you guys have - and the willingness to impart it.

I reckon you drove veery well Travis- I think you should be very happy with how the day went.

With all the auto's in the club now, we should organise an auto training trip where we can all compare notes, setups and techniques.

I reckon that is a great idea. I was a little concerned about getting stuck too often and slowing you guys down, so I think I drove with too much power on occasion. I would learn alot from a trip where perhaps some more difficult tracks could be driven a number of times with different techniques/gears, with less concern for getting stuck.

Hope that makes sense...

That makes sense to me.

I was doing just that, on the steep loose rocky stuff.
Trying differents speeds, gears and throttle ups n downs.
Be good to drive on different tyre pressures, on same tyrack, too.

Something a very rarely see with the auto cars in the club is the brake lights on whilst the car is moving through obstacles. I very rarely had my left foot off the brake when I was driving my G off road, and it's just how I drive an auto off road now.

It's fiendishly hard to learn, kind of like patting your head and rubbing your tummy at once, but once mastered, the true advantage of an auto becomes apparent.

PS Travis, you never have to worry about going too slow. We've all sat behind Greg for years.
