I have booked into the Dargo Motel at $115 per night. They have plenty of rooms on the Friday night but almost booked out for the Saturday night for a wedding in town.

Next option is the pub with log cabins. If you want to share this is $50 per person.

Then the caravan park which is a bit out of town.

Can't find a web site for this one though.

I think there is another caravan park called the Wonnangatta Caravan Park as well.

OK so time to get this one back to the top of the list. As mentioned in an earlier post can you reconfirm if you are in for this one. Louis and Tony have confirmed already.

An update on this trip. I spoke to the Dargo Rangers today (very helpful crew) and Tony and I have now mapped out the route in terms of track conditions and times.

Day 1 Friday 21 November
Get to Dargo at some stage during the day. Refuel vehicles on arrival.

Day 2 Saturday 22 November
Depart Dargo around 8.00 am or we can make it 9.00am if anyone is driving down on the Saturday morning but definitely no later than 9.00 am

We will take the Dargo High Plains road up to Blue Rag Range track. This is to save time.
On Blue Rag Range travel out to the trig point if the weather is clear enough.
Return on Blue Rag Range and then head down to Talbottville via the Bassalt Knob North Track, Bassalt Knob Track and the Brewery Creek Track. These tracks are all in good condition according to the rangers. Other options are not passable at the moment.
Visit Talbottvill for lunch. (Might not have time for prsopecting though Wayne)

So far this section will take about 4 to 5 hours.

Then we will take Station track to the Cynthia Range track, then down Herne Spur to the Wonangatta Track then on into the Wonnangatta Valley which includes about 4 or 5 river crossings (we did this track last time).

The trip from Talbottville to Wonnangatta is about 3 to 4 hours so this will be a long day but we aim to get to camp before 6pm so that means not wasting too much time at stops.

Day 3 Sunday 23 November
Exit the Wonnnangatta via Zeka Spur and down to Licola. (3 to 4 hours max) Refuel at Licola.
We will end the trip at Licola and head back to Melbourne (3 hours driving)

All up this might be an easier trip than last time but taking in quite a few more sights.

Attendees to be confirmed at the meeting this week or via the forum

Mike - Jimny (Confirmed)
Wayne - Siera
Richard - Siera (Confirmed)
Christover - Vitara (Probably confirmed)
Poz - Jimny (Probably confirmed - will attend meeting?)
Pezz - Siera or JK
Tony - Landcruiser (Confirmed)
Louis - GV (Confirmed)
neofitou - Jimny

Attendees need to make their own accommodation arrangements for Friday night. Louis, Tony and I are booked into the Dargo Motel. All will be camping on the Saturday night. Tony will have his chain saw.

On the issue of fuel. Tony has calculated that between Dargo and Licola (the two fuel stops) we will cover 260 to 300km. Remember that 80% of this will be in low range. The average Sierra and Jimny will need to carry an additional 20 litres of fuel. I will take more just in case. When in low range in the high country you can expect fuel consumption to be up to double what you would get normally on the highway.
