I definately interested.
Should be able to be there.

I assume my little trailer is ok on this trip?

It can handle hard stuff if it comes up.

Chris, your trailer should be OK. Below are some pics from the Cobberas track over the last few years. The first 3 seem to be the same short section and would be the worst we could expect and why I gave the trip a medium rating, the rest of the track would be easy. I was planning on travelling east to west which would mean going up this section. We could easily reverse the day and go down this part, but then we would be going up the section in the fourth pic. I will contact the local parks office for current conditions.

Is the area National Park?

Just wanted to confirm this is still going ahead so I can book time off work, etc.
Is the plan to drive to Orbost on Thursday? Or do we need to come down the night before?

I'm still planning to go but will be making a few changes.

I found some up to date information about the Cobberas track.

http://www.fwdvictoria.org.au/upload/11 ... 20FWDV.pdf

I also spoke to the Omeo Parks office and was advised no repairs will be done for several weeks. So I'm thinking of running the trip in reverse and do the Cobberas/MacFarlane tracks first, then the Deddick Trail second. This will make the hardest bit down hill.

A rough itinerary will be:
Thursday - meet at Dargo around 1pm for lunch, then onto Omeo, Benambra (last fuel) and camp at Native Dog Flat.
Friday - drive the Cobberas/MacFarlane track, re fuel at Seldom Seen or Gelantipy, then camp at McKillops Bridge.
Saturday - Deddick Trail, camp somewhere north of Orbost
Sunday - return to Melbourne/Geelong

My sisters lives on a massive farm just out of orbost.
If you would like I could see if we could pitch our tents and use the showers etc.

Sorry to hear you can't make it Chris.

Brad, there is a nice camp site on the Snowy River just out of Orbost I was hoping to stay at. If there's no spaces left we could go to you're sister's place.
