Kayaking Safari

Post by sierrajim »

A few weeks ago I spoke to Dan about his Kayaking adventures and he mentioned a few cool rivers down near the Thompson dam in Gippsland.

Do any club members have Kayaks? those who do would you be interested in such a trip?

I guess something could be structured as a Saturday night Toolshed pub meal/accomodation followed by a day on the river somewhere?

Yep got 2 sit on top surf / play kayacks.
And a proper white water one, not that I am all that good at it.
So depends on exactly what sort of paddling would be happening...

most of the thommo is dead easy. but you will need to be prepared to cop a few smacks and stuff.

Sit on tops really do suck in white water due to their hull design they catch on everything, but i'll make exceptions just for the comedy value :P

Yeah had a few spectacular wipe outs on the sit on tops down the Barwon River last time it was in flood.
Anyway interested in going.
