10-Jul-2011 - Toolangi - Easy/Medium

Post by Greg »

Shock Horror!

Since track closures will be in force, I will put up my hand to run something slightly easier for once.

Edit: 9-Jun-2011... Tentitively locking in Toolangi since everything else is closed for winter. Also re-rated the trip to be at the easier end of medium

TRIP TITLE:
My only medium trip for the year.

TRIP DATE:
Sunday 10-Jul-2011 (date is flexible, but it's currently set at 2 weeks after Otways)

TRIP DESCRIPTION:
A chance to come out and play cars with a good mix of capable and (slightly less) capable cars.

TRIP LOCATION:
What do people think? Where can we find something fun to drive once the seasonal closures are in place? I will have to check the closures list and see where we can go - Warburton / Toolangi / Gembrook and Labertouche are the likely suspects.

TRIP RATING:
Medium. I will try my best to cater for anyone with a decent set of tyres.
We will try to drive some tracks with fun parts for all the cars to play on.
If you are unsure - send me a pm and we can discuss.

TRIP MEETING POINT:
TBC once trip location is in place.

ATTENDEE LIST:
Greg - Sierra
Mika - Sierra / Wrangler
Brad - GV
Chris L - Vitara with no air con
Andrew - Wrangler
Jim - lwb sierra
Marty - Vitara with super tyres and spare tail-lights

It was still working back then, photo shoot seems long ago.
I am about to fix it now, miss it more for its defrosting than cooling.

You can count me in. Lift is now fitted, and I should have my new tyres by then too.

Well if we did that track with the massive rutted section again that would make for an interesting comparison.

But then again something new is always nice - not really fussed.

I gather that is toolangi brad.

I'm just kicking around on this website to see what is supposed to be open and what is seasonal.

http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1process_ ... =48&page=3

what is confusing though is that there are almost no tracks shown as seasonal for Warburton... it is very tempting to head there and play on Cemetary and Britannia Creek. They would be suitably medium with harder lines available for people to play on.

guess i will have to make some phone calls to the ranger to confirm.
