TRIP TITLE:
Annual Snow Trip
TRIP DATE:
Friday 19th August 2011
Saturday 20th August 2011
Sunday 21st August 2011
TRIP DESCRIPTION:
The Suzuki Club's (almost) Annual Snow Trip to Mt Skene.
TRIP LOCATION:
This trip is typically driven in 4 parts:
1. Drive from Melbourne Jamison on Friday Night
2. Drive up to he summit of Mt Skene on Saturday morning and find a place to setup camp.
3. Short day trip from camp site around the summit area and along a few tracks and clearings (ideally all covered in snow)
4. Drive down off the mountain on Sunday arvo and then back towards Melbourne.
Due to everyone's different schedules and accomodation requirements, there will typically be people driving up to Jamison early on Saturday to join the convoy, as well as other members coming down off the mountain to stay in Jamison on the Saturday night instead of braving/suffering in the cold.
TRIP RATING:
The snow trip will cater for all levels of vehicle and driver experience. It's the once a year trip where all cars can come along and have fun with challenges for everyone.
TRIP REQUIREMENTS (Driver and Vehicle):
Here's a link to a prev snow trip. Check out the first post - Steve has quite a good write up there with car and driver requirements:

TRIP MEETING POINT:
We will have several meeting points (TBC) for each group:
1. Friday Night Departure from Melbourne
2. Saturday Morning Departure from Melbourne
3. Saturday Morning Departure from Jamison
4. Any other groups?
ATTENDEE LIST:
Due to alpine road permit requirements, we will need to confirm numbers at least 2 weeks prior to the trip date.
19 - 21-Aug-2011 - Snow Trip *PLEASE CONFIRM ASAP*

Re: Snow Trip
Will this be a HARD trip? Or will you cater for the likes of me?

Snow Trip will cater for every one. We just put the big cars at the front to push through the snow and the small cars at the back.

Re: Snow Trip
Okay well that's made up my mind, I will be coming.
The last time I camped in the snow was Year 12 Outdoor Ed - gee that seems like a life time ago.

Re: Snow Trip 19-21 August
There we go - A date!
Now all I need is a car I can trust to make it up there and back!
Details as per the last eleventy years, except obviously we will need confirmed numbers etc for the permit.
More details to follow once I've read up on the permit thingy.
Steve.
