XC Skiing Lake Mountain 15th of August (EASY)

Post by neofitou »

I will be going Cross Country Skiing on Lake Mountain on the 15th and thought I would run it as a trip.
Snow cover is excellent and looking like its getting even better.

Meeting place will be at Cross Country Ski Hire, 43 Murchison Street Marysville at 8:30AM.
http://crosscountryskihire.com.au/
I will call and arrange a group deal if we have good numbers, but hire will be $30.

Everyone will gear up to leave at 9:00AM to get on the mountain early.
We can car pool here to save on the $20 per car entry costs.
You do not need chains on lake mountain if you have 4wd.

Bring
a small backpack with water and lunch in it,
water proof pants, gloves and jacket, but you can hire these.
Change of clothes and a towel

Noobs are encouraged to come along.
We will provide coaching and we will do easy tracks in the morning before lunch and then see where everyone is and go harder or split up.
I've ran groups of school kids on this trip before, so long as you're in good health you will have a good time.

XC skiing is great fun....but I won't make this trip.

I am interested to run a snowshoe along the feathertop ridge off the hotham rd and then build an igloo and sink some warming beverages if anyone is keen in similar?

My city mates are keen for a "bear grylls" style weekend lol.
