Wandin 4WD Show 2009 Sunday February 22

Post by Club Committee »

The Committee has decided that we will have a stand at Wandin in the new year. Planning is already underway and the booking has been made. We are going to have a social atmosphere on the stand with a bit of fun thrown in ;) . There will be an easy social type trip organised for the following weekend for any prospective members.

More details on the show can be found here http://www.victorian4wdshow.com.au/store/page.pl?id=58

If can help out please let us know.

Claire and myself will be helping out on the stand.
We can't really help out with bush fire duties.
We will be camping in the Tadpole Saturday night.
Do we need passes to get in Saturday?

As mentioned in the other thread I will be there to help after work. Was just wondering what the ticketing situation is this year, are there going to be free tickets for those working on the stand?

Is anyone expecting or wanting the steel cube used to show off axle articulation?
It has been at my place for years now, and its getting harder for me to lift.
So I want to make sure its needed before carrying it up..

Bring it along Chris, I'll take it away with me after wandin - it can stay at my place from now on.

It might come in handy.

Done and dusted for another year. The weather was kind to us this time around which is always a plus. Thanks to all who helped out in organising, setting up, manning the stand and/or packing up at the end and the new t-shirts looked good and stood out from quite a distance. I think it's been a while since we had the same looking t-shirts on at the same time.

There seemed to be some good interest in the stand this year, even at the end of the day so hopefully we may gain some new members too. It 's always amazing just how many ex-LJ owners are out there and come up to our stand to have a chat. It was also good to catch up with other members seeing as I haven't been able to make too many trips or Club meetings the last several months but hopefully that will change.

The esky full of ice cold drinks for those on the stand was great as well as the BBQ lunch that was provided....Martin even did a great job cooking it too.

I even did a little shopping and managed to get some of the LED lights I was after for the Sierra as well as some ammo tins that will be useful for it too.

All in all, a good day. :)

A massive thankyou to Lloyd for all the work he put in to making Wandin run so well.

I agree, interest in the club was very good. Some have been commenting that numbers were down but I acutally thought the carpark looked pretty busy and we always had plenty of people at the stand all day.

I had a great weekend all up.

Yes it was good but thats because of participation as well as organisation.By my count there were 12members on the stand during the day.Thats 40% of the club .With Bill doing bushfire releif Ballarat swap meet Seymour field day, thats a good result. Thanks to all,Lloyd.
