Sounds good...
The only issue is isn't it supposed to match your hair colour ?
You have grey hair like me.

Thats the general idea, or some match thier skin color.
I picked brown, because black or white is hard to keep clean, and the pinkish and grey color would clash with my eyes :)

I may grow hair back, yet, but I'm no self concious about people seeing it, I'll wear it with pride.

Today we got yukky old dressing removed, all visible stitches out, and a clean dressing put on. yaaaaay
This was only to get home, then I was to remove it.

The plastic healing cap stays on till next Monday, in the meantime I keep it aired, very dry and don't get it dirty.
This will be for some time, to give skin graft its best chance.
There are some stitches under the cap to come out on Monday.
The plastic cap clips to the implant and holds pressure on the skin graft.
Bone integration with the Titanium implant should take care of itself.
But I'll be taking calcium anyway.
So camping, car work and wheeling is on hold for some time. :(
Until graft is perfect.

And for some excitement, for me anyway, I met the inventor of the cochlear implant (bionic ear) in the lift.
His name slipped my mind, so I asked.
He wouldn't give his name, he said I'm just one of the cochlear docs.
Hows that for meekness.
Then he said cheerio and proceeded to jay walk across a very busy road. :o
I used the crossing.

I looked up the cochlear doc on thier web site
:quote:
The University of Melbourne Department of Otolaryngology is based at the Hospital and Professor Graeme Clark is Head of that Department. Professor Clark was responsible for the invention and development of the Cochlear Implant device and an active programme is undertaken at the Hospital.

Had me second follow up appointment today.
Rest of stitches came out. Healing pad not needed anymore.
Docs very happy with progress. I can get it wet in shower now, but no scrubbing it. I have to dab/wash with saline twice a day and put a new guaze pad on each time, for next 3 weeks till appointment. He said to get a pack of eye patches guaze, pierce to fit over abutment, and hold it on with a head band, so will go shop in the morning. Couldn't get them on way home. Be nice to be able to wash hair, or at least me head now. For tonight its tied on with another bandage.

Have to wait for skin graft to finish healing, and for bone to osseointegrate with the titanium.
About 3 months.
More waiting, but at least its positive waiting.

New bandage system works well, and isn't too hard to get on.
It is not important to keep it on all the time, as fresh air is good too.
But bedtime and going out etc is important.
Have to change it twice a day.
Boy its great to wash me hair again.

You've got more hair in your beard than on top of your head Chris.
Good to see that you're making some real progress.
