differentials

Post by tomzook »

rear diff is stuffed in my 90' mdl sierra, not sure if c/w and pinion are worn, but looking for replacement/rebuild. From what i understand the diff has not been off for that long although i could be wrong. I have done the ring around for rebuild prices ranging from $150 to $600, only solid help i got was from Matt in moorabin, who qouted $580 d/i, d/o. (sound about right?)

i was actually hoping for a cheaper alternative. . .
Are the coily sierra diff's the same?, could i replace mine with one?

otherwise any help or opinions would be much appreciated

Thanks Tom

Coil diff centre is 3.9 ratio so will only work with a narrow track front diff.

WT sierra are 3.7.

If you pull the diff yourself and hand it to the shop all the prices will come down. Drive in drive out is always the most expensive option

Tom.

I would highly recommend Matt from Total Traction in Moorabin.
He really knows his stuff.

I think a few other people from the Suzi club has had diff work by Matt.

I had my Grand Vitara diffs changed.. Did a good job.
