Great that you're now seeing some progress Chris.
How long would you expect to be on the waiting list? Hope discomfort of the trial setup not too bad for you.

I finaly got a visual smoke alarm fitted today, it was the govt's idea, but still took a long time to happen.
Its a bright strobe light and vibrating pad, thats hooked wireless to a normal looking smoke alarm.

I have to take the loaner test band baha back to the hospital today
I'm going to miss it.
The sounds, anyway, not the less than comfy head band bit.
I see the surgeons in about a month, to see if I'm suitable for that side of things.
Bit faster than what I expected.
Though actual surgery may be a longer wait?

Re: BAHA Hearing Aide Possible funding
One step closer.
The wheels turn, ever so slowly, but still progressing.
Surgeons have given the go ahead, but only under a general anaethsetic, not local.
Thus we now need approval from pre admission clinic, make sure I'm fit enough to survive the sleepy stuff.
Got that appointment in 5 weeks.
Am on the list for the op bit within 3 months.
Though that time frame is not set in stone.
Strangely the surgeon was very negative, until he found out it would be funded by the government/hospital/medicare/research funding, then he was more enthusiastic
I am moderately excited, but trying not to get over excited, as there is still some more hurdles to jump.

Re: BAHA Hearing Aide Possible funding
And to liven up the long wait, 2 well armed cops brought a shackled prisoner into the ear clinic today, was a bit scarey to see, but exciting too.
He was well trussed up, and had a disturbing grin on his face.
I wasn't getting close enough to try and found out why .
I'm a woozie bloke![Embarrassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)

Great to hear that you've still got forward progression Chris, even though it seems like "low range".
