Bosch tech night 2008 - Reinstated (Yeh Ha...)

Post by mightymouse »

Anyone interested in another tech night at Bosch this year ?

Likely to be May, but depends a little on staff and Clubmembers availability.

We were pretty general in coverage last year, so do we want to get a little more detailed this year - and if so - exactly what ?
I don't want to bore people by repeating what they already know - so the topics are open....
As those who attend last years will testify - you would be struggling to get more automotive electronics expertise in one room.

HOWEVER - as I am asking friends to give their own time to run this, I need to ensure that the club is adequately represented. If I can't get a minimum of 10 members, it won't be a goer.

Eventually "interested" will need to turn into a firm YES or NO.

I'm a definite YES. It was an excellent night and the guys were great so I'm up for it whenever we can do it. Whatever the ground covered I'm sure it will be interesting but my current areas of interest relate to turbos, engine management and tuning but I'd be just as happy learning about the diesel side of life too.

Topics for the night :

1/ "BYO" EFI systems - concentrating on the "mechanical" and sensors required - not ECU's unless interested
2/ Direct Injection Petrol systems
3/ Electronically managed Diesel systems.

Items 2 & 3 are very new technologies that will have a significant impact on our new cars in the next few years.
The guys will have just returned from Germany so they will be right up there with developments.

Will have the obligatory Q&A session as well and we can drift as required.

Sorry guys - It won't be possible to run the tech night on this date. Hopefully a bit later in the year.

I hate to do this, but with things as they are, its just not possible.
