I run the earlier style g16b that has the intake crossover the top of the engine and have no clearance issues. Low range will sell you those adaptors by themselves.
You can keep the vitara sump with RUF. My front diff just grazed the sump when it was only 25mm forward.

Also fitting a baleno intake would mean you'd have to put the thermostat in a tight spot. I'd be doing everything I could to keep a RWD g16b intake.

Any idea how much they lower the engine by?
I installed the G13 sump and pickup, even though my ruf pulled the diff forward >30mm the GV sump was too close for my liking.
For anyone interested in the various mounts I received some info from the manufacturers:
Trail Tough Unbreakable Mounts- maintain original height, minimize driveline vibration. They recommend modifying the engine brackets rather than using lowering mounts.
Petroworks Isolation Mounts- Lower the engine by ~19mm and cant it a few degrees anti-clockwise, redesigned recently to reduce excessive driveline vibration and increase strength.
ZOR Motor Boat Mounts- Lower the engine by "inches below the hood", adjustable in 3 axis, must have a spring lift due to how much the lower the engine by. They recommend the Petroworks mounts if a spring lift is not going to be fitted.

I couldn't tell you how much they lower the engine by. I've had a measure. Running a spirit level from the top of the cowl the top of the cylinder head (not the valve cover as yours will be different) is 140mm lower than the top of the cowl where spark plug no1 is. Hopefully that makes sense, I tried to do it so you have some sort of datum to work to as you valve cover/intake is a bit different.

Is that with the spirit level on the same angle as the cowl, or level?

Level from the front corner of the cowl where it bends down to the vertical face where the bonnet bolts into.

I currently have 139mm from this point on the cowl to the gasket between the head and the valve cover.

So your engine position is fine, and you just need to lower the manifold somehow?

I'm guessing the GV has a different head, or the LowRange mounts don't lower the engine, as I am using stock height mounts.
Leigh, thanks for the offer of the G16a intake, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to get it working with my ECU.
Jono, if you could measure the height of your intake at the same point as above and at cylinder 4 that would help me in knowing how much lower I need it.
