Daylesford/Jim Crow Rnge. June 28. Easy.

Post by luigi »

An easy trip into the country North West of Daylesford.
Meeting at Sailors Falls picnic ground at 9.00 am Sunday June 28. Sailors Falls is on the Daylesford Ballan road about 5kms Sth of Daylesford. It is well signposted.
If anyone wants to make a weekend of it, Daylesford is a great place for a weekend getaway. It has any amount of accommodation and tourist facilities.
The country is undulating with short sharp climbs. A few mud patches but most tracks are rocky. (see videos of previous trips)
No minimum requirements but A/Ts would be better than road tyres.
Lunch will be at Tipperary Springs picnic ground on Sailors Ck. Long drop toilet.
I will do a gold panning demo at the lunch stop.

Hi Fellas.
Hi Pez. We will only be at Tipperary Springs for about an hour. Not enough time to set up a high banker. But if you or anyone else wants to bring a pan we can all do a demo. This is not a prospecting trip, I just like to add some interest.
I have found some nice gold in this area with my detector over the years. :D We will be going past a few of my favourite places.
Regards, Wayne.

Hi guys.

Back from the Simpson. Took the Disco and not the Jimny. Great adventure. Took 3 days to cross east to west but now I am pretty much grounded for quite a while. I have used up all my 4WDing credits for a while. See some of you at the next meeting.
