Steering wheel removal tool

Post by Greg »

Does anyone have a gear puller or special steering wheel removal tool I could borrow please?

I have tried gorilla style and smash hammer action but all to no avail :(

Bring it to this week's meeting?

Thanks,
Greg

I made up a bootyfab thing to get mine off. Just a piece of flat bar that you run bolts through and into the steering wheel. It works for a stock wheel, not sure what your cappaccino wheel is like, but it could do the trick

yes, I have a puller and a slide hammer either of which will work.

I have also make the flat bar tool in the past.

I will bring the puller set tomorrow.

thanks Neo. that would be most handy.

I tried making the tool - but my first attempt was with a bit of 3mm aluminium - sadly a fabrication fail.

oh - and it's just the stock wheel I'm trying to remove. I want to fix my indicator cancel action - at the moment they don't cancel after cornering.

If that alloy was steel it would work, that's all I use

Does anyone have a spare stock wheel I can borrow? My guess is that mine is missing the two pins off the back of it and that is the cause of my issue...
