Hi,
While my daughter was on her L's, she purchased a 1999 Suzuki Jimny (manual) around a year ago.
One year later she has decided to get her Auto license so no longer wants this Jimny.
The car is not currently registered but has been started and run every month to keep it in good shape etc.
What she was wondering, is around how much would it be worth without rego or RWC?
It has knew tyres & all electrics (windows etc.) work.
From memory the brake discs need machined and set of new brake pads would therefore be a good idea too.
any idea what she'd be worth?
She said she may be interested in buying an Auto Jimny so I was also wondering - what are the Auto Suzuki Jimny's like?
I found this manual quite good but would be worried the auto might rob the engine of too much power?
Suzuki Jimny - what would she be worth?

Sorry, no idea who Greg is.
Re: Suzuki Jimny - what would she be worth?
Greg is the current club president, and is running a Jimmy motor and auto in his sierra and pushing around 35's. I think Luke was calling out for him to chime in with some first hand experience.

Sorry guys, i don't know very much about the Jimny auto vs manual performance.lbzook wrote:Greg is the current club president, and is running a Jimmy motor and auto in his sierra and pushing around 35's. I think Luke was calling out for him to chime in with some first hand experience.
Yes I have a sierra with a Jimny 1.3 and auto gearbox, but the car is heavily geared and over tyred, plus i have never driven it with a manual gearbox so I'm really not sure how much power is lost in the auto.
I can however point out that the jimny auto gearbox is worth big dollars. parts are rare and costly. rumours of a 7K replacement value for the box are floating around. so you don't want to kill one with abuse.
what is your jimny worth? I'm afraid i don't know the answer to that one either. I have never checked the cost of a whole jimny. i don't expect they are going to be worth too much these days. i could only suggest checking carsales.com.au for similar vehicles and working from that.
cheers,
Greg
