Hi Mike, Thanks for your efforts so far in organising this trip - only to be beaten by the extreme weather.
It is a wise call to postpone this weekend until a more moderate weather time.
I can't do the 1/2 Feb - will be in Tasmania & won't bring the zook home until 6 March, but suggest you run with what weekend suits you and the majority!!
Cheers Richard

Hi Fellas.
Hi Mike. Can't see that you had any choice. We would have been called foolhardy if we went on with it.
I won't yet say I can't make the Feb weekend, but it will be difficult for me. At this stage count me in.
Majority rules.
Regards. Wayne.

If I had not called this trip of yesterday then I would have this morning. There are now three more fires within the Alpine National Park. Whether or not the proposed dates of 1 and 2 February will work will depend on these being under control. I will evaluate that late next week after a discussion with the rangers and will start a new thread for the rescheduled trip since Greg started this thread and I cannot change the title.

I spoke to David (Davjon) tonight. He has a stock GV on highway tyres. I expressed a little concern about heading up into the high country on highway tyres but I would value the opinion of others on this. David will be getting ATs within the next month. Do you think HTs will be adequate for Billy Goat Bluff and Zeka Spur? He has some off road experience.

Opinions welcome.

Thanks

Mike

Traction no problem in the dry.
If wet not a good idea.
But ht tyres are more prone to damage.
