Buxton Private Land EOI Trip - Mostly Medium to Hard

Post by dank »

So my old mate BJ who some of you met on the Tour this year is now managing a property out in Buxton which has around 100 acres of paddocks, hills, granite, creeks etc etc which he's planning on running a winch comp up there early next year.

I hit him up today about maybe doing a club trip there and he said BRING IT! So......

Any of you guys interested to go for a weekend sesh and turn it into a club trip? It will be medium to hard, aim is to set up technical stages for the comp and generally just go driving and have some fun. I'm thinking a mix of motokahana style windy stuff through the trees, some hill climbs, creek, off camber stuff, should be pretty cool.

it would actually suit any of the club members as there is heaps of land to wheel on from flat paddocks to crazy lines up the rocks.

The property is wedged in between the Cathedrals and and the highway, so it's only 5 mins from Buxton which means pub for dinner and easy 2wd access for trailers etc.

Whos keen?

Lets make 2-3 November the date and see how we go for numbers. BJ said it's reliant on how much the property dries out in the next few weeks as it is stupidly wet up there at the moment, I was up there a few weeks ago and you couldn't drive up the slight incline with 37" sticky treps in a patrol. Which basically doesn't mean shite to us suzuki guys...

lets go wheeling!! Don't have to stay for the whole weekend either. Edit just saw Gregs Zook Club cup thread...potential to use these few days before to setup a private "club cup" for the tueday melb cup day...or merge these two trips into one and have it on the monday and tuesday.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!

Golly, I think this would be quite good fun.

I have commitments on Friday night (Cosmic Psychos and Spazzy's in the Gershwin room!) and Monday night, but I reckon I could do Saturday from about lunchtime and Sunday all day.

I'm not sure I'd do the zook club cup as I'm in town on Monday so I'm staying in Fitzroy on Monday night.

Sounds good, just double checking dates with BJ at the moment to see what he's cool with but I think the sat and sunday might be a goer at the least. It'll give me something to aim for to finish rebuilding the zook.

I guarantee this property is FUN!! You'd be silly to miss it!

You blokes with the Vitaras and Jimny's who want easier stuff don't be scared to come up as there is terrain to suit everyone  Nothing stopping us having three or four groups out there at once driving different stuff :D

I started my engine conversion today so my cars out of action for a little while, but that sounds like a ton of fun!! I'd be keen if there are any trios further in the future!

Cool all depends on how the ground is. It's still a working cattle farm so we have to be a little mindful of the pasture within reason...like no point making ten lines up the same grassy hill or doing doughies in the bottom paddock...

Will see how we go. BJ still has a few things to sort out before we get access so will keep people posted.
