Hi Fellas.
Hi Kiwi, a suggestion. Noojee State Forest. Take the Mt Baw Baw rd from Noojee , at the top of a winding hill turn right into Ferguson Rd. About 4 ks look for Hawthorn Ck track on the right. About 8 ks you will come to a bridge , tracks go left and right at the bridge. Left is too difficult for me. Right is steep and fun and will take you to a few side tracks. Degree of difficulty changes a lot with the weather conditions.
This country is where I often go prospecting. ( on some maps Ferguson Rd is called Vesper Rd ) If you are interested I can give some more details.
Regards. Wayne.

keen.

Mt Worth is great, but you really need some local knowledge, and lots of rain.

Wayne's suggestion, Noojee/Neerim Sth, is probably the best as there are not too many closures. But the tracks can be super easy or super hard depending on when they get graded and I don't have any up to date info.

Another option is Narbethong, across to Marysville, then towards Buxton. Several of the tracks are closed, but there are still a few easy/medium ones open but maybe not enough for a full day.

Hi Fellas.
The tracks I am thinking of were all graded last Feb and March. Before that they were badly rutted. There has been some very heavy rain since then. I have not been back since last March. I reckon they would have rutted a fair bit by now.
You are right Steve , they change a lot in the wet.

Thanks for the info Wayne,

Where shall we meet ? the back of the petrol station at Bunyip where everyone normally meets?

Only black cars get canaries.

Neerim's good but a bit of an unknown, not sure if the tracks will be easy or hard as I haven't been there for a couple of years. Will your guys be OK if it gets 'interesting'?

Caltex (I think it is now) on Sands Rd Longwarry is the place to meet, not too early I hope.

Is Marysville out? Drove a few tracks back in April and there's some rocky climbs that are good easy fun (Sierra easy, GV medium).

Steve, my mates all cancelled so would you want to go if its just is 2? Anyone else want to make the numbers?
Marysville is a bit out of the way for me

Happy to still go, just as happy to stay home next to the fire. Would be better with more cars but 2 is OK (a zook is worth 2 patrols).

Or postpone until the 14th and get a few people motivated at the AGM?

And Narbethong is only 10k further than Neerim Sth.
