I wouldn't worry too much.

Other than over priced and slow freight, I've found them reliable.

It actually arrived today but I was in Canberra. Will pop into the office this evening and pick it up.

Got Camo offroad to fit the replacement transfer case. (recommendation from Dank and easier than doing it on my back). Picking it up on Saturday but Cameron reports that it is now quiet. I gave him a demo of the noise last weekend when I dropped it off and he agreed with me that it was a slipping transfer case chain.

Final update. Picked it up today and no more whining noises from the transfer. Took it to my test hill and no more slipping chain. The original transfer case obviously did have a problem when I got the car. It is like a new car again now. I can also recommend Camo offroad down in Sommerville..

Glad to hear the problem is fixed.

Is it right your car only has 20000 odd km on the clock? I thought I heard Cameron say something like that when I was down there during the week. Interesting if the transfer had only done 20,000km and had buggered up already.
