250,000km's

Post by Jhey »

Hi all,
I'm from Melbourne and looking to buy a nice and basic soft top Sierra.
I'm planning to slightly modify it if needed (good tires, winch, suspension, etc) and use it on a hilly cattle property in NSW.
Now I found a nice '94 model, but it did over 250,000 km's. Is that too much for a Sierra?

Since I'm new to Australia/4WD/Sierra's every bit of advice what to look for when buying a Sierra is very much appreciated! For instance, if I would buy a simple 'road' Sierra, how much would it cost me to make it off-road worthy?

Thanks in advance,
Jochem

Hi Mate

best thing to do is come to a meeting and have a chat with the guys down there. You will learn heaps in one night about the best plan of attack for future ownership of a zook and more than likely get a look at some of the other guys rigs and talk to them about their mods!

Cheers

I second that but if you can't wait till the second wednesday in March then...
I paid 3.5K for my Sierra and it was pretty tidy, for a tidy stock Sierra I was happy to may 3k, I slightly over paid.
I can't comment on the engine thing though.
try Auszookers too

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your advice.
It'll be great to come to your meeting next week Wednesday. If I'm not up at the farm I will definitely be there.
What is the time and place of the meeting?

Cheers,
Jochem
