Simpson Desert Crossing JUNE 2011

This is something that I am interested in but I would need to decide closer to the time depending upon work committments. Next year is the earliest for me. I will need time (and money) to get a small fuel trailer built for the purpose. Would be interested in having a chat about the logistics at one of the future meetings. Got up to Mt Dare and Dalhousie last year but that was as far as I could go alone.

I'm going to Robe/Beachport with AZ forum, in late September.
For a bit of sand driving practise/learning/car developement etc.
And for fun, too.

I'm curious to test speed/tyre size/power/towing and gearing differences,
to see if car and camper are set up right.

Should be fun.

Also been looking at Little Desert and Border Track as potential warm up trips, too.

I am away from this weekend for 3 1/2 weeks. Back second week of October. In any case my car is in pieces and I need to find some time to get it back together. I don't think I will be ready to go anywhere until December at this rate.

Apart from the Beachport/Robe trip, I doubt I'll be going anywhere too soon.

Too all that may be interested in a Simpson Desert trip April- May next year I will be attending the next meeting [Nov.] to have bit of a chat about the pro's and con's of the trip.
I'am looking forward to attending a meeting again as it's been a while.
