Cobaw state park - Hard - Postphoned

Post by dank »

Just did a trip up to Cobaw state park this weekend and there is some MAD rock and rut action up there. Most of the tracks are all drivable in the dry with some super hard detours with 6ft deep ruts and rock steps like robertsons track in labertouche and one track I only know of as Mad Hill and this it a steep huge rocky track with loose topsoil did I say the rocks were BIG??!!

I broke my first rear axle this weekend ever! You've seen how I drive so this is an indication of the areas potential! I was all crossed up in a rut on this steep manky hill and the rear diff was loaded up and just popped under slow crawl torque.

I'll post some pics up but it's definitely trip worthy for a hard day trip and also excellent potential for an easy medium trip as well. It's all within a small area too.

I'm almost thinking its worthy of an inclusion to Adventure Tour 2013.

Anyway let's do a trip there. Who's keen?

Thinking November some time. Or early October. Will get dates up soon.

I'm keen dank!

I'm a bit busy over Nov and Dec, but don't let that stop you.

Make it happen.

One good little bit. Pretty steep but lots of traction

This is one of the good rutted tracks. There are harder lines available as well.

Late Oct, we're moving, then SEMA. November would work for us though.

I have friends out that way if people want to park trailers somewhere.

you going to SEMA jimbo? I am too. So Im in the same boat.

I think i've pretty much used up all my brownie points already for october so it looks like it'll run in November some time after the zook club cup.

This is Mad Hill

Hmmm - I like the look of this.

Sort out a date - I'll try and make it.

Crickies I think you have mistaken that for a bush walking track and not a 4wd track... :)
I will probably jump in as official photographer for that particular track.
