Re: Snow Trip
what was the trip like? How many people ended up going? What were the snow conditions like? How was the camping? How did it go with Pat, did he get some good pics etc for a write up?
Re: Snow Trip
The trip was good. We had over 20 vehicles with about half being Suzuki. The snow had deteriorated somewhat during the week thanks to warmer temps and rain. We made the summit pretty easily although Crispin had some clearance issues in the Jimny but he got there. Getting down was a bit painful due to the traffic and some people without a clue but that was to be expected. Pat was a great bloke and hopefully he got some good shots for the magazine. I saw a few on his camera that looked pretty good. Three camped overnight on the summit Friday night but everyone came off Saturday as the weather was getting worse and some went and had a play on Mitchell's so Pat could get some more shots. We had a good night at the Jamieson Brewery and headed home Sunday morning. Looking forward to next year.

Re: Snow Trip
I still can't believe that people did camp Friday night, 120km winds in the snow. It doesn't sound like the sort of night that marsh-mallows would be toasted around a camp fire.
The day trip was great and challanging.
Great to see so many people/cars out with the club.

We Did, and it was art, but the wind was just too strong to make it effective, couldn't stop the drizzle either. We lasted until 9 on Friday night and then hit the hay.droopypete wrote:Did you guys build a "wall O snow" like previous years?

Sounds uncomfortable, maybe next year we need to make an igloo the size of a marquee, would that make it an iglee or a marquloogwagensteve wrote:We Did, and it was art, but the wind was just too strong to make it effective, couldn't stop the drizzle either.
