More Vitara newbie questions.....
Hi all, I'm looking through the for sale ads for a Vitara Estate. Whilst not ready to buy just yet I'm taking in as much info as I can on the vehicle. Most odometer readings are from 220,000km upwards, as to be expected. My questions are: At what sort of mileages will the engine and/or auto box (if ...

Does the lighter weight of a Vitara Estate (compared to other larger vehicles) dictate in any way just what brand/tyre structure is more suitable for it? Are softer sidewalls better when airing down? Or does it not really matter?

Vitara diff upgrade...
Hi all, I'm a newbie here. Planning on getting a mid 90s Vitara Estate for solo touring. No intention of heading anywhere remote or tackling hard tracks. Not alone. So it will be dirt and gravel mainly...my question is: How will the stock front diff handle this type of work? Will it do the job, or i...

I'm a newbie of sorts, having owned an old Pajero some years ago, and am considering a mid'late90s Vitara Estate as my next vehicle. I don't want 31s on it, for gearing and legal reasons, and would like to know if smaller sizes are available. Most tyre manufacturer websites seem to start at 31in. Ad...

Vitara brakes question..
Looking through 'for sale' ads online I notice an early 1990s vitara with front drum brakes. It never crossed my mind that these were still around on any vehicle!
So when did front discs come in? Because I sure want them!
Thanks...

Re: Tyre size and legalities....help please
Thanks for that. I'm not overly concerned about being pulled over, it's my insurance policy being void after a bingle. As I understand it, if the car is legal then insurance shouldn't be an issue. As I also understand it we are allowed a 75mm total increase in lift, so the regular 2in suspension lif...
