As discussed at the meeting, I'm having a hands on Tech day/night drive next Saturday.

The tech day:
Kicking off at 0900am:

We'll be swapping engines/gearboxes on a 1.3 WT hardtop I have at home. It currently has a seized 1.6 in it and a 1.3 gearbox that's had 1.6 mounts on it.

We have a fresh short 1.3 to go in, a 1.3 gearbox connected to a tired 1.3, and a bunch of other 1.3 stuff to swap in. We'll be reusing the manifolds and accessories on the 1.6 that's currently in the car.

The task will be to get it running at a sensible time in the afternoon.

The night drive -

After dinner (excellent Pizza's from Cappa Rossi's in town)

We'll be hitting rocky, Glenburn and whatever else isn't shut in Toolangi. This won't be a long drive- just a couple of hours. Standard will be medium.

Bring any useful tools (but I don't need anything in particular) and some change for dinner/lunch.

Please update the following attendance list as we go:

Tech day attendees:
Chris H
Mitch
Ross
Matthew

Drive attendees:
Ross?
Matthew?

Numbers aren't important, but I'd like to know who to expect and by when.

Feel free to shoot with any questions, or call me on 0407 049 763.

Steve.

I'll be there for both.

Will pack heavy hammer - might not be necessary for engine fit but may be needed to persuade Feroza......

I would imagine it could be a quick and fast solution for sorting out any vitara that busts a knuckle on the trails...

Though in the above quote - it is meant as a term used to describe the passenger seat in a car - i.e. the seat next to the driver... i think the term goes back to the days of the wild west when the person sitting next to the driver would carry a shot gun to take care of any thieves or wobbers (and wapists)... hense the term - "riding shotgun"..

There is no crime greater than calling Shotgun on Monday in reference to the ride to the concert on Friday. Some people choose to play this way, and they are fools.
I think you are dangerously close to this.
Quoted from the source above. ;)

A rule of shotgun is it can only be called on the way to the vehicle.

I'm definitely in for the tech part, but the drive will depend on how I feel on the night.
