Have just been informed that rocky track is on the agenda to be shut. Tom from the association and a few members of our club will be having a meeting with DSE in the next few weeks to discuss. Is Sams Hut track still closed?

Sam's Hut would take alot of work to open (dozers) alot of burnt out leftovers from logging.
Vic Range track between Spraggs Rd and almost to Vic Range Road has also been closed by gate for almost two years.

Is that due to the proposed pipeline, or because it's a popular track close to a major road?
It would be difficult to imagine a cost or environmental reason to close it - it's had almost no maintenance in the 17 years I've know of it's existence and doesn't seem to require any. Erosion is non existent and it's probably safer now than back in the old days - the rocky surface is now deep enough down that in most of the more challenging bits it would be almost impossible to get across the track and roll.

I am unaware of the reasons at the moment. With regards to the pipeline, I believe Glenburn is on the agenda to close. Look forward to meeting those concerned to address the issues.

Received a further email from Tom of the association, rocky track is not up for closure. This is good news. He will be visiting us next week at our meeting to discuss further our involvement in the regional reps and track classification program.
Hope you can all make it! We are also auctioning off the arb compressor too.
Regards,
Bill
