I'm Lachlan, I was at my first meeting last night. It was great talking to you all. I can't wait to get out in the bush soon.

Yep, get you car on a few trips. Don't get stressed about tyres and mods etc etc.

Most trips are accurately rated and don't hesitate to ask the trip leaders opinion on your cars suitability.
Many tracks have bypasses around the harder stuff so there are usually options.

Just get out there and enjoy yourself.

Hey mate good to see we didn’t scare you off.

The best thing to do is get out there and figure out what end point you want to reach. This way you can also see the way that other cars are set up and the how they work. There is nothing worse the sending money twice, there is also noting worse then getting half way through a build and deciding you want to do something different.

Cheers Michael

Hi Lachlan,

I think there is a theme developing here and that is get out on a trip with us and see what others have done to help work out what you want/need to do. I know from talking to you at the meeting that you have a good budget and the fact that it is not a daily driver is a plus. There are plenty of options but what I was saying to you about your tyre size being your starting point is as good a place as any to start as that determines what you need to do to fit and run it such as lift and gearing. Those 33x12.5's you were talking about using are pretty wide and getting clearance will be more of an issue for you than if you used something a bit narrower. Tall and narrow is not a bad option to consider. Anyway feel free to ask any questions and hopefully you can make it on the 6th of April for a drive.
