I wish the tracks were classified correctly at Larbortouche

Why do we need to be trained by Parks... i.e to name correctly each tree by their botanical names etc.
What a load of bollocks

O.H well it like being in the Army again... "Hurry up and wait"

its for the reason that what I think for example is an easy track in my sierra is not so easy in my JK. Parameters need to be set. Its a good idea.

Oh well - it did seem all to good to be true.

"Amateur Hour" seems an appropriate description at this point.

I'm not surprised at all. Track grading will become a VERY complex process. Many US trails with ratings have explanations as well as the rating -

i.e - Black Diamond - "you need a winch and minimum 31" tyres to run the trail"

But this whole idea is going to be very easy to kill with bureaucracy.

If the training goes ahead would it be possible for me to attend even though I'm not on the committee?

Looks like some tracks have already been rated in Bunyip State Forest.

Would it be worth running a trip to check these tracks out, to give us an idea of how to grade. (No, I'm not volunteering to lead it)
Last time I was at Bunyip (probably November or December) I would have classed all of it as easy-medium, I had a stock disco with me and he had no major problems, though I don't actually know if we drove Blue Range via Andersons track.

Andersons can be quite challenging.

This flyer from parks is an excellent move in the right direction - it is the first time I have ever seen formal recognition of a desire to drive more challenging terrain from parks.

Whether you agree with the rating or not, the fact parks are now doing this is a huge step.
