Noisey gear box or diff? I took my car to my mechanic who is not a zook specialist and he thinks that'
the noise that i have coming from under my car apon releasing the clutch and slowly taking off is the gearbox bearings
are fyucked out. Can anyone reckonmend another mechanic or them self as a zookmanic

to help me with this please
I will be most likely coming to the next meeting as i stated in other posts i am new to 4wd and zooks all help would be greatly appreciated.

It's almost impossible to give advice on what's wrong based on the description of a noise. Come a long to the club meeting and let us have a listen we might be able to give you more advice.
Bearings normally make more noise when at speed than when pulling away.

My guess would be clutch thrust bearing, common if playing in deep mud or water often, but as Steve says come to the meeting and those with mechanical ears will have a listen.

That was my first thought too, or pilot bearing (these make some bad noises as the car moves off if they're dying)

found that the top 3 bolts on shifter housing were loose and so fixed all that with new bolts and regreased it all.
but still have rattle only under load with clutch engaged. but with car in neutral and reving under no load the rattle is not there. i am thinking a bearing or something in the box
