Suzuki has introduced a new 2-seater light-commercial vehicle version of its small and lightweight off-roader, the Jimny. Since its launch in 2018, the model has attracted both private-users and professionals who seek for an authentic off-road performance.
To further meet the needs of professionals, the new Jimny light commercial vehicle model comes with a large luggage compartment with a flat floor and safety cargo partition.

99.9% Sure this is a short term workaround for CO2 emissions. Commercial vehicles will most likely have a short term reprieve from Euro7 emissions. Suzuki has had to withdraw the passenger Jimny from sale in the UK/Europe because of emissions standards.

That’s one view. The other view might be it’s cynical rule dodging. By no stretch of the imagination does a Jimny qualify as a commercial vehicle with 2 seats any more than it did with 4, and it’s done not one thing to make it pollute less. (Lets be clear, the current Jimny is a very dirty car compared to other vehicles of its capacity/class) At least the old VAT (Tax) dodge With commercials in the UK used to demand they were turned into an van (deleted side windows) which meant owners weren’t tempted to just throw seats back in them.
The other VAT dodge was putting two side facing rear seats on each side of the load area in the back of a D110 Land Rover to make it a 10 seater, at which point it didn’t attract VAT anymore.
