introducing the YUK Truck

Ok so a while ago i bought a stock as a rock 1996 coily and am hoping to get some combined wisdom going here to help guide me in my build.
We named it the YUK Truck as its original NSW rego had that prefix according to some old paperwork. We bought it in Bairnsdale from one of the Bairnsdale 4 W/D Club members.
With its impending new duties we thought YUK Truck was an appropriate title.

It is currently stock and has 205/70/15s Trepadors on it with a massive 35 mm of suspension travel available.
We want to be able to tackle most club trips up to and including hard trips in it so need to build it up with that and $$ in mind.

So i want to run 30 or 31 inch tyres and given Steves input may stick with the 15inch rims as opposed to the 16s.
The reason i was considering 16s is so as the tyres didn't appear so big and attract attention, but if there is better options out there i will go that way.
I want to build a reliable rig with good gearing and traction but with decent road manners if possible.
So to run that size tyre i thought the 1lt transfer was an easy swap in way to lower the gearing and probably cheaper if someone had one ready to go but if its not suitable then ill be guided by whaqt is.
Any ideas appreciated.
